Nach 1984 schien Kansas am Ende. Im Oktober 1986 kamen Steve Walsh, Phil Ehart und Rich Williams allerdings erneut unter dem Namen Kansas zusammen. Neu dabei waren der Ex-Dixie Dregs Gitarrist Steve Morse und Billy Greer, der zusammen mit Steve Walsh bereits bei Streets die Bassseiten gezupft hatte. Mit All I Wanted landete Kansas unter den Top 20 der US-Charts.
